Calcium Pangamate

Everything you ever wanted to know about calcium pangamate

Calcium pangamate is a mineral supplement that is made up of a salt of pangamic acid that’s isolated from fruits like apricots.  Another common name for calcium pangamate is vitamin B-15, although there is much debate on whether or not this supplement is actually a real vitamin.  Some experts also refer to calcium pangamate as pangamic acid.  So far, no research has proven that we need vitamin B-15 in our diet, and there doesn’t seem to be any health problems associated with not having any daily.

Calcium pangamate is not a common vitamin supplement in the United States, but people in other countries do commonly use it to treat some health problems.  Scientists from the former Soviet Union have done the most research on this supplement, and they say that it can decrease muscle fatigue and actually increase muscle endurance.  If this research can be repeated in other studies, then calcium pangamate could have an important place in the treatment of many diseases like fibromyalgia.  Some experts also say that calcium pangamate is very helpful in pain relief in patients who suffer from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.  Other possible health problems that calcium pangamate may treat include alcoholism, cirrhosis of the liver, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart problems, cancer, hepatitis, headaches, and stress.  This vitamin also may help increase the circulation of oxygen throughout the body.

Specifically, experts on calcium pangamate say that it helps heal cuts and abrasions and prevents premature aging.  They also say that this supplement helps the body utilize energy from food more easily and gives the body a boost when it comes to both physical and mental repair.  This supplement may even protect against pollution and stabilize emotional problems.  It also has been shown to act as an antioxidant, which means it helps lengthen cell life and may even stimulate the nervous system.

There are a few great natural sources of calcium pangamate that you might want to try to get into your diet.  Eating a bowl of whole grain cereal is a great way to get this vitamin into your daily diet.  Also brown rice is a great source of this vitamin.  Other great sources of vitamin B-15 are pumpkin and sesame seeds, eggs, and organ meats like liver or kidney.

So far, researchers have not found any bad side effects from taking too much calcium pangamate, but it’s always a good idea to check with an expert to find out how much you should consume per day.  The only side effect reported with this supplement was some mild nausea, but that was reported only after using the supplement at high levels and only for a few days.

Of course more research is necessary before we know for sure if all the promising effects of this miracle supplement are true, but it sounds like just about anyone could have the potential to benefit from taking these supplements with very little risk of any negative side effects.
